Design
is driven by content …

The
most important part of batch data processing is integrity. We practise
careful version control so that we can trace our steps in the unlikely
event that some text gets missplaced. |
Preparation
of data is critical for efficient typesetting.
We can carry out routine
tasks more quickly than an experienced copy-editor can perform
them on hard copy, if you ask us to.
We have
written in-house software for processing text from a variety of sources
to make it consistent. Even within one document, several authors can
be involved, each with their own idiosyncrasies. We can follow your
house style to make text and punctuation consistent across chapters
in a book, or books in a series. For example:
- Endnotes
that should be footnotes, and vice-versa, are quickly changed by
our own software.
- Single
quotes within double should be double within single? No worries,
easily fixed – by us.
- Text
not on disc? No problem – we can quickly scan it and accurately
capture the text using OCR software.
- We can
import text from a variety of software formats and platforms, including
XML output from data management systems.
- Once
typeset, we can output text to almost any format, with or without
codes, in raw ASCII, HTML, SGML, XML, PostScript or PDF.
